The GI Bill is a huge advantage in serving your
country, and there are over 900,000 GI Bill recipients right now.
Military Veterans receive the Gl Bill (www.gibill. va.gov), up to $18,077.50
in grants (aka free money!) towards tuition, per year, for up to three years. In addition, GI Bill recipients receive up to $1,368 towards housing each month and another $1,000 per year for books. The GI Bill includes
the Yellow Ribbon program where the college/university you enroll in and the U.S. government match contributions to cover any tuition due above $18,077.50.
Those that have served in the military for 3 years or more receive 100% of this maximum payment, two years or more
The good news is those on the GI Bill can use it to study abroad at over 1,200 colleges/universities abroad. That's three times as many as allowed by FAFSA financial aid! The link to search all of these colleges/universities is inquiry.

The Montgomery GI Bill is also available to full-time military and military in the reserves. Basically, soldiers pay $100 per month for 12 months and at the end of 3 years in the military receive 3 years of education.
Students in college, enrolled in ROTC, can also study abroad up to a semester. You can also study abroad (usually for a semester) with permission of your ROTC superior on campus.
